Day 9: Slow Down and Connect

Taking time to slow down and connect with the ones that matter most to us can help us recharge while nurturing those relationships we value. To get the most self-care benefits as possible, I encourage you to be fully present in the moment. Being fully present means that you are not just physically present, but mentally and emotionally present as well.  

  • Call that friend you’ve been meaning to catchup with
  • Take time to play a game with your child
  • Drive around with your family to look at Christmas lights
  • Meet someone for coffee
  • Bundle up and go for a walk with your partner (followed by hot chocolate of course)
  • Sit down for dinner and good conversation with your family
  • Meet up with some girlfriends for dinner or drinks

However you decide to slow down and connect, remember that being fully present in mind, body and spirit is essential. Despite the hustle and bustle of the season, we can all find a good reason to slow down.
